4.0 out of 5 stars Slow start, but 18-month-old likes these now!, July 15, 2007

This review is from: LeapFrog Learn & Groove Counting Maracas (Toy)
I'd had my eye on these for a while, because our 18-month-old son loves music and has had a great time with the Laugh and Learn Piano from Fisher Price. When I finally received the maracas, though, he didn't seem at all interested. In fact, he seemed to dislike the noises they make. One is just a plastic maraca with shaker beads inside, which didn't much interest him. The other is a battery-powered one that lights different colors and has three settings (numbers, colors and music) in English and Spanish. After a while, he would pick up the one that has lights and sounds and check it out. Now he really seems to like it, although he gets bored if it's on the music setting, because it plays the same short refrain over and over again. (I get bored, too.) The reason I didn't give this toy five stars is because of the limited musical selections. All of the Fisher Price toys have numerous song options, which helps to toy to stay "fresh." This one only holds his attention for a few minutes at... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Toy!, January 18, 2007

This review is from: LeapFrog Learn & Groove Counting Maracas (Toy)
I got these for my 1 year old Nephew for christmas, I wanted something he could grow with a bit but still enjoy now that was educational. He loved shaking the maracas and watching the colors change and he was even trying to mimic the voice counting colors and numbers a few times.

Definitely a great choice for any young kid who loves music.

4.0 out of 5 stars Learn & Groove Counting Maracas, January 9, 2007
This review is from: LeapFrog Learn & Groove Counting Maracas (Toy)
Bought this item for my recently year old twins. They love them. I was surprised to find that only one maraca was interactive. They are not very interested yet in the maraca that just rattles but I think this is a toy they will grow with. The twins love music so it is nice to be able to combine their love of music with learning.

I appreciate the fact that the maracas have a high and low setting for volume. I think the high volume is much too loud for a baby's ears.nw

4.0 out of 5 stars A lot of the complaints are silly, February 25, 2010
This review is from: Dreambaby Deluxe Bath Seat (Baby Product)
Before I purchased this seat, I read-over all the reviews. Upon receiving the seat, I messed around with it quite a bit to "test" the most common complaints. There are a few funny quirks with it, but I think a majority of the complaints are due to improper use or unrealistic expectations. This seat is the best bath seat on the market; the only legitimate "issues" it has are issues that would be shared with most any bath seat because of the general nature of restraining a floating child. I'm going to addess the most common complaints based on my experience.

1. The seat can float and it moves or doesn't stick: Well, sort of. If you stick the seat to the tub and then fill the tub with water, it traps air under the seat, which can break the force of the suction cups and make the seat float. However, if you partially fill the tub before putting the seat in, you trap much less air underneath and it sticks just fine. Once the air is out, the seat barely moves at all. If... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Caution with chunky babies, December 14, 2011
By
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Dreambaby Deluxe Bath Seat (Baby Product)
This is a good bath seat, provided your child can fit in it. My little super chunk weighs 20 lbs and the seat sort of pinches his thighs due to the narrow leg openings. This happens regardless of where I position his bottom (towards the back of the seat or more forward doesn't seem to matter) -- his thighs are that enormous. It's really quite impressive now that I think of it. No wonder everyone asks if they can squeeze them all the time. And here I thought that's how strangers say hello to babies.

In any case, Chubby McTalks-a-Lot doesn't seem to mind it since sitting up is totally the bee's knees right now. The upright position allows him to take in all the wonders of bath time, from splashing to rubber duckies. And oh dear lord does he love him some rubber duckies!

The rest of the seat is quite open and allows for reaching, twisting, and all the squirming your little tike can muster. And to chime in with the other posters, it REALLY IS a pain to have... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Served its purpose..., October 30, 2009

Not an amazing product but it certainly solved our "We sit down in the bath tub" problem when our little one insisted on standing everywhere even though he had no balance or sense of fear. The plastic isn't very comfortable and the edges can be tough on a little naked body. The toys don't do anything and the suction isn't that great (the suction cups will even pop off) but baby's weight will keep it in place. Again, not amazing but very helpful considering the other options out there - and there really aren't any. If you're wanting a basic restraint to help out with a dangerous wiggler, this seat is fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, October 11, 2011

I've been using this seat for a little over a month for my 10month old. It's super cute and doesn't hinder her playing. I like the non-slip pink part of the seat and the 4 suction cups on the bottom. There's also a pink tag in the front that makes it easy to hang dry so the suction cups don't get slimy. It seems well constructed, not cheap and should last us through at least two kids.

1.0 out of 5 stars SCARY..., October 23, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Dream On Me Niagara Bath Seat, Green (Baby Product)
The seat doesn't stick good to the tub. It can easily turn over... if you put water to the babies waist its easier for the seat to flip over. you can only have water to his legs... The seat that I had before stuck on good. This seat scares me at times when my baby reaches for his toys cause am so affraid that its going to flip to it's side.
